Two words that describe Tanzania well are Animal Paradise. Most of Tanzania's land is devoted to wildlife conservation - more than any other country. Step out on the vast plains of Tanzania and you will suddenly feel small. It offers some of the best game safaris, beach holidays and mountain climbing in the world. The country also offers a lot of historical knowledge including Arab traders, life during the Colonial times, Slave trade, the first ever traces of Mankind and so on. Zanzibar, a small island near Tanzania is one such place to be visited. The Serengeti, The Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Mount Kilimanjaro to mention a few are places of interest in Tanzania. The mainland area of Tanzania is approximately 945,000 km2 and Zanzibar (which is also counted as part of Tanzania) is approximately 1658 km2. The climate in Tanzania varies from tropical to arid to temperate. The approximate population of Tanzania is 40million of which approximately 40% are Muslims, 40% are Christians and the rest are of other beliefs. The official language spoken in Tanzania is Kiswahili. English is also well understood by almost all Tanzanians.
